War, drought and starvation have driven some 150,000 Malians to seek refuge across their borders, and over 200,000 to be displaced within their country.

After fleeing violence and brutality, refugees are met with another hardship; the cruel conditions of the desert. The entire Sahel region is suffering from crippling drought and an acute shortage of food and water.

Over three quarters of those fleeing are women and children, including fifty-year-old Fatima, and her granddaughter Aissa. Fatima’s daughter recently died of illness and one-year-old Aissa is suffering from acute malnutrition. Your kind donation can help rebuild their lives.

UNHCR desperately needs more resources to help thousands of Malian refugees under our care. Please donate today to help refugees like Fatima and Aissa.
