Millions of children, women and men from Venezuela have fled to nearby countries to seek safety from violence, insecurity, lack of food and medicine, and increasing poverty. Many of these people are vulnerable and in need of urgent protection.
More than 5 million Venezuelans have left their country so far, and the majority are hosted in the region. This is the biggest displacement in Latin America’s recent history.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is dramatic, and It has pushed Venezuelans into a spiral of poverty and despair.

UNHCR is on the ground responding to their needs as the numbers continue to increase unabated.
We are working to ensure the most vulnerable are protected with shelter, health care and documents that will allow them to access services, so they are not living in precarious situations, exposed and at risk.
