Des combats intenses se déroulent depuis un an au Soudan. Les rapports faisant état de civils tués et blessés dans de nombreuses régions du pays sont fréquents. Les populations sont forcées de fuir les affrontements et arrivent dans les pays voisins en ayant désespérément besoin d'aide.
Le HCR et ses partenaires estiment que plus de 8,5 millions de personnes, principalement des femmes et des enfants, fuient leur foyer en quête de sécurité au Soudan et dans ses environs.
Au Tchad, les équipes d'urgence de l'UNHCR sont sur le terrain pour rencontrer les réfugiés nouvellement arrivés et leur apporter une aide vitale.
Au Sud-Soudan, les équipes de l'UNHCR, en collaboration avec leurs partenaires, se tiennent aux différents points de passage frontaliers pour suivre les nouvelles arrivées - principalement des réfugiés sud-soudanais qui rentrent au pays - et pour apporter de l'aide.
L'UNHCR travaille en étroite collaboration avec les gouvernements et ses partenaires dans tous les pays voisins du Soudan pour répondre aux besoins des personnes qui sont arrivées et pour se préparer à de nouvelles arrivées.
Des centaines de milliers de personnes doivent être protégées. Elles ont besoin d'abris, de sécurité et de biens de première nécessité.

Never in history have there been so many people that had to flee from war, violence or persecution. More than 82 million men, woman and children are desperately in need of a safer future. They are people just like you and me. UNHCR is helping them, but we cannot do this alone.

We promise you that your money goes where it is most needed. 84 cents of each Euro donated go directly to people in need in the field, 10 cents are used for global refugee-protecting programmes and the final 6 cents are for headquarter administration.
