The Climate Crisis is a Human Crisis
The climate crisis disrupts agriculture, worsening food insecurity in 22 countries, including Pakistan, the East and Horn of Africa, and Sudan. Over 60% of the world's refugees live in the most climate-vulnerable regions, where food insecurity is escalating.
- People's homes destroyed by heavy rains, thunderstorms, and floods.
- People unable to grow crops and farm animals anymore as land became rendered useless due to environmental degradation (i.e., depletion in quality of soil, water, air, etc.).
UNHCR provides emergency shelter and essential relief items — such as tents, shelter, mosquito nets, food, etc. — ensuring families have the protection they need in the face of disaster.
We are dedicated to fostering sustainable resources and building resilience, helping refugees adapt to a changing climate.
I'd like to make a one-time donation of the below amount:
Your money helps UNHCR provide protection, shelter and other forms of assistance, and advocacy on behalf of displaced and stateless people every year.
We ensure that as many funds as possible are redirected to refugees, stateless persons and asylum-seekers. 85 per cent of all funds raised go directly to field operations. 7 per cent is allocated for global programmes, helping refugees, internally displaced people, asylum seekers and stateless people under the UNHCR mandate around the world, and 8 per cent is for headquarters administration.
UNHCR staff work as closely as possible with and for people forced to flee, with 90 per cent of our workforce based in field locations. For further details on UNHCR's budget, read our Global Report.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for people forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution.
We lead international action to protect refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people.
We deliver life-saving assistance, help safeguard fundamental human rights, and develop solutions that ensure people have a safe place called home where they can build a better future. We also work to ensure that stateless people are granted a nationality.
We work in over 130 countries, using our expertise to protect and care for millions.
Upon the form submission, you will be directed to a secure server hosted by WorldPay, which processes online donations on our behalf.
