HUNGER IS FEEDING CONFLICT IN YEMEN
After seven years of violence and conflict , Yemen is on the brink of a famine that could be the worst seen in decades. The war in Ukraine and extreme climate events are driving food shortages and massive price hikes across the globe. The scarcity of food is helping to fuel the conflict and force even more people to flee their homes.
Economic instability, financial hardship and skyrocketing food prices have left over 17 million Yemeni people struggling to feed their children – let alone themselves. Families have already lost their homes and their livelihoods, now they have to watch their children go to sleep hungry and malnourished, not knowing when they might eat again.
UNHCR has been on the ground in Yemen since before the conflict began, providing emergency cash assistance and access to vital supplies like shelters, mattresses and fuel, and providing dedicated support to the most vulnerable families. We are working tirelessly to protect those at the greatest risk. But we cannot do any of this without your donations.
I'd like to make a one-time donation of the below amount:
Your money helps UNHCR provide protection, shelter and other forms of assistance, and advocacy on behalf of displaced and stateless people every year.
We ensure that as many funds as possible are redirected to refugees, stateless persons and asylum-seekers. 85 per cent of all funds raised go directly to field operations. 7 per cent is allocated for global programmes, helping refugees, internally displaced people, asylum seekers and stateless people under the UNHCR mandate around the world, and 8 per cent is for headquarters administration.
UNHCR staff work as closely as possible with and for people forced to flee, with 90 per cent of our workforce based in field locations. For further details on UNHCR's budget, read our Global Report.
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for people forced to flee their homes because of conflict and persecution.
We lead international action to protect refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people.
We deliver life-saving assistance, help safeguard fundamental human rights, and develop solutions that ensure people have a safe place called home where they can build a better future. We also work to ensure that stateless people are granted a nationality.
We work in over 130 countries, using our expertise to protect and care for millions.
Upon the form submission, you will be directed to a secure server hosted by WorldPay, which processes online donations on our behalf.
