Staff at UNHCR are mobilizing from Iran and Afghanistan to Lebanon and Syria to support people forced to flee their homes as the regional crisis intensifies. Many affected countries already host millions of refugees and internally displaced people. Given our footprint in the region, we are ready to play a leading role in the emergency responses.
UNHCR is the largest UN agency present in Iran. We are on the ground with emergency supplies and are ready to scale up as needed.
We are at the borders in neighbouring countries ready to respond with the relief items that people need most in the first days after they are forced to flee, including blankets, sleeping mats, and hygiene kits. Providing vulnerable displaced people with these emergency items supports their dignity, health, privacy, reducing further protection risks. Your urgent support can help us rush even more aid to families who have lost everything.

We ensure that as many funds as possible are redirected to refugees, stateless persons and asylum-seekers. 85 per cent of all funds raised go directly to field operations. 7 per cent is allocated for global programmes, helping refugees, internally displaced people, asylum seekers and stateless people under the UNHCR mandate around the world, and 8 per cent is for headquarters administration.
