For many of us, sport is something we do for health or leisure, but for children and youth uprooted by war or persecution, sport is much more than a game. It’s a powerful vehicle to help them heal, develop and grow.

They have lost everything and their childhood. While they now seek refuge at refugee camps, sports open a new door for them to normalize their lives in transition and heal their emotional scars from fleeing home.

Sports help to heal refugee children’s psychosocial problem, reduce tensions between communities, provide safe spaces for them to grow and develop, and support their education and life skills.

  • HK$25,350  can provide sports gear, wear and kits for 65 refugee players in Kenya Dadaab camp. 
     
  • HK$46,800  can hire a professional coach from the city to spend 6 months to train a team of refugees in a camp in Democratic Republic of Congo.
     
  • HK$98,280  can construct or improve 6 educational facilities in Pakistan to provide an outdoor playground for children to exercise and play.
