Clean water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities | UNHCR
A lack of adequate clean water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities can devastate the health and survival of refugees. Whether they are living in or outside of camps or in urban settings, it is impossible for refugees to maintain the recommended social distancing guidelines within the density of small, shared living quarters during the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore WASH is particularly important in these scenarios.
UNHCR’s WASH programmes ensure water, sanitation and hygiene services remain available and accessible to tens of millions of forcibly displaced people during this global health emergency.
Please help today to provide readily-available and undisrupted lifesaving services to those in need during these difficult times.
