Ethiopia Emergency | Give Now | UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency
Fearing for the lives of themselves and their families, thousands of men, women and children were forced to flee Ethiopia's Tigray region, displacing 1.7 million people and leaving thousands homeless in Sudan. Most people flee with nothing, and many have nowhere to live.
More than 5.5 million people are threatened with hunger . UNHCR provides emergency assistance to refugees on the ground - we need your support more than ever.
Please help us save lives and meet the urgent needs of refugees.
Our teams are responding quickly to the dire situation of forcibly displaced families, providing emergency shelter and relief items:
₹ 2000 can add solar lights to help refugees adapt to the unfamiliar new environment in the camp.
₹ 1,400 can provide kits to build shelters for 1 newly arrived refugee family.
₹ 7,700 can provide emergency relief kits for a refugee family to cope with their new lives in refugee camps.
But they need more monthly assistance:
₹ 1,700 can provide 3 blankets for 2 refugee families to protect against cold nights.
₹ 2,770 can provide emergency relief kits for 2 refugees.
₹ 5,500 can provide a kit for 20 refugees to build a shelter.
We desperately need your support as we scale up our relief efforts to prepare for a worsening situation.
