With your help, we will make sure that no refugee family torn apart by war is left behind.
Meet Israa. She is a little girl with simple dreams. She lost her parents in the war in Syria, but she calls her aunt and uncle by the names mum and dad. “After Ramadan, comes the Eid…” she told us. “I’d like to get a dress. I’ll get one if dad has enough money. But if he hasn’t, I will simply deal with it. And God will remember the good girl that I am.”
We are doubling our efforts to help the vast number of Syrian refugees who have lost loved ones in the war this Ramadan; the mothers struggling alone, and the children overshadowed by the absence of their parents.
Thanks to people like you, UNHCR provides 60,000 refugee families with cash assistance in Jordan and Lebanon, allowing families living precariously to afford some stability - a roof over their heads, clean water to drink, food on the table, and to meet their children’s needs. Of this number, 6,617 families are either headed by widows or supporting orphaned children.
We are devoting all of our resources to make sure that children like Israa are not left to struggle alone this Ramadan, but we can’t do it without your help.
$35 could provide kitchen sets for two refugee families to help prepare their meals
$50 could provide ten plastic buckets to help families carry clean water for drinking
$70 could provide food for two refugees to help them break their fast
