Families across the Middle East have been forced from their homes. Many are refugees and internally displaced people who are fleeing for the second-sometimes even the third-time. Now, they have nowhere safe to go.
Families who once escaped violence are again running for their lives, carrying only what they can and with little to no social or economic support in their home countries or places of displacement.
Across Iran, Lebanon, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, large numbers of people are internally displaced, and many Lebanese and Iranian families have crossed into neighboring countries seeking safety.
UNHCR teams are on the ground across the region, providing legal and social protection, emergency relief items, and safe shelter to people who have lost everything. We are at borders and inside affected areas, ready to support more families as needs grow.
In Iran, UNHCR is the largest UN agency on the ground and is ready to deliver emergency aid immediately.
