Tens of thousands of displaced families in Myanmar, neighbouring countries, and their host communities are in desperate need of humanitarian assistance.

Violence within the country has increased dramatically, causing people to flee their homes and live in fear and uncertainty. UNHCR teams are on the ground in Myanmar providing aid where possible.

People all across the country are struggling to survive amid conflict and soaring inflation that is making basic goods unaffordable. Almost half the population lives in poverty. What’s more, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees fled the country almost six years ago to escape violence and persecution, and most of them are hosted in Bangladesh.  

Families need life-saving aid and protection.   

Communities are still reeling from the effects of Cyclone Mocha in 2023, which cost lives and destroyed homes. The coming monsoon season will make communities, especially those who are displaced, more vulnerable.
