FAMILIES FORCED TO FLEE CONFLICT IN NORTHWEST SYRIA

Escalation of hostilities in Northwest Syria, including in Aleppo, has forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes. For many families, this is not the first time they have been displaced—and now that winter deepens, they urgently need shelter and essential supplies to survive. Please donate now.

In a country torn by nearly 14 years of war and conflict, Syria remains one of the world's worst humanitarian crises. An estimated 90 per cent of the population lives in poverty and even before the latest escalation, 7.2 million people were internally displaced by conflict.

This comes on top of the recent influx of over half a million people—both Lebanese and Syrians—who fled Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon. Sixty percent of them are Syrians, arriving with minimal resources and in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, alongside the communities hosting them.

The majority of them are children, and they are in urgent need of protection and support.

In Jordan, 80% of refugee families are unable to meet essential expenses to survive. Shelter, food, medicine, and education are urgently needed. Children are the hardest hit: many of them cannot finish school and are at risk of exploitation and child labour.

Now winter has hit, and families are also battling the cold. UNHCR is on the ground across the region providing critical support—but we need your help to reach even more people with urgent aid.

Please donate now.
