EARTHQUAKE IN AFGHANISTAN
Entire communities lie in ruins. Families have lost everything.

Millions of people in Afghanistan are trapped in poverty and hunger, amid economic collapse and with human rights - particularly for women and girls - under attack. More than 2.4 million Afghans have returned or been forced to return to Afghanistan this year, many setting foot in Afghanistan for the first time, and with nowhere safe to go.

Now a devastating earthquake has destroyed entire communities. Survivors are sleeping in the open, exposed to the elements. Winter is fast approaching—and without urgent support, lives are at risk.

Help us provide emergency relief and shelter now.

Communities are still reeling with the effects of previous earthquakes and flooding—they urgently need safe shelter, protection and relief.

UNHCR and partners are on the ground, racing to support rescue operations and deliver emergency supplies inside Afghanistan like tents for families and solar lamps to provide safety in the dark of night.

Please donate now.

Why should I donate monthly or on a regular basis?

By choosing to give a regular donation, you will be helping UNHCR to plan ahead and invest in long-term projects to improve the lives of refugees.

Faster help: Monthly donations allow UNHCR to respond to emergencies when a crisis occurs. Your gift can go where it's most needed.

Support of long-term operations: More predictable income helps UNHCR go beyond short-term emergency aid and provide families with ongoing relief and protection every single day.

Easy to donate: To set up a recurring donation, please choose the Monthly option in the form. You can always update your donations by contacting our Donor Care team at [email protected].
