UNHCR Philippines | End Statelessness
Without a birth certificate, children and families who are displaced due to armed conflict or at risk of being stateless face difficulties in accessing their rights: to nationality, to education, health care & livelihood, and to a brighter future.
A gift from you will enable UNHCR’s birth registration initiative to reach more populations at risk of statelessness in vulnerable and far-flung communities in the Bangsamoro region, including the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
With your support, more Sama Bajaus and unregistered children in the context of displacement due to armed conflict and their families will be given access to a legal identity, which in turn safeguards their rights and improves their access to other social services.
Everyone deserves the chance to say #IBelong
Give the gift of hope this 2024.
This campaign forms part of the birth registration initiative in support to the Philippines’ implementation of its National Action Plan (NAP) to #EndStatelessness as well as the UNHCR-UNICEF Joint Strategy to Ending Childhood Statelessness.
