As temperatures plummet around the world, families who have been forced to flee struggling to survive in inadequate shelters, such as leaking tents to freezing caves and bombed-out buildings.

Winter is always a challenging time, but this year, thousands of families from Afghanistan, Syria and Ukraine are returning to their homelands after being forced to flee, with nothing to protect them from the bitter winter weather.

• $130 can help a family in Afghanistan to heat their homes in winters by providing 200kg of processed wood.
• $320 provides emergency cash assistance to support an Ukrainian individual affected by recent missile or shelling attacks to help them meet immediate needs.
• $500 can ensure that two Syrian children with specific protection needs have access to essential services and support in child-friendly spaces.
