UNHCR’s Zakat programme directly supports families in countries such as Jordan, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Yemen, Iraq, Egypt, Somalia, Nigeria and Mauritania.

Every Zakat contribution is handled with care, with:

  • 100% going to displaced families
  • endorsement by scholars
  • distribution in line with Zakat categories
  • funds held in a non-interest bearing account 

UNHCR is on the ground aiding refugees families, but relies on voluntary contributions to fund its work.

What is yearly donation?

A yearly donation is a recurring donation. After you select your donation amount and successfully complete the donation, you will donate the same donation amount on the 3rd-5th of the same month of your first donation in subsequent years.

This allows UNHCR to plan ahead and invest in long-term projects to improve the lives of refugees and displaced families.
